Documents issued by the respective country, which have to be enclosed to adoptive applicants’ application to the Ministry of Justice:
- 1. Permission for adoption (Eligibility Certificate), issued to the candidates for adoption by the competent authority under the Cyprus law;
- 2. Documents certifying that the candidates have not been deprived of parental rights, issued by the competent authority under the Cyprus law;
- 3. Home-study report for the candidates for adoption, containing information also for the other members of their family, including their health status, prepared by the competent Cyprus authorities;
- 4. Documents certifying the health status of the candidates for adoption reflecting their physical and mental health and the lack of grave chronic illnesses, infectious venerial diseases, AIDS, tuberculosis and other illnesses endangering their life or the life of their next of kins;
- 5. Documents certifying the existence or lack of criminal records of the candidates for adoption;
- 6. Marriage certificate;
- 7. Contract concluded between the candidates for adoption and an accredited Bulgarian organization – intermediary in international adoptions.
All foreign documents have to be produced in original and in Bulgarian translation certified by the Bulgarian Embassy or Consulate in the respective country. Documents issued on the territory of a country, which has signed the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 on the revocation of the so far required legalization of foreign public documents, with affixed Apostille on them have to be produced in original and in Bulgarian translation certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
